My wife Mary Ann was so
delighted when we start taking down some ripe jackfruits from a tree. For a layman, to get the ripe fruits from the
tree is not easy as we thought. Both of
us have to discuss and plan our requirements prior the harvest activity.
Since day one in our
HomeGarden, it is interesting to note that both of us always wanted to do a
farm drill in a “hands on” basis because we both believed that mental attitude
is as important as physical endurance and knowledge. We must know how to take everything possible
from nature and use it to the full. We
must know how to maintain a healthy physical condition thru our constant farm
drills for maintaining morale.
We considered a bonus
any farm equipment/tools that we have; and lack of equipment/tools should not
mean we are unequipped because we carry skills and experience that we enhance
as time pass by and with our knowledge extended all the time.
We finalize the plan
with the following:
A prayer for guidance
A tall ladder enough to
reach the target fruit which is about 15 feet
A sharp scissor/knife
to cut the twig holding the fruit in the tree trunk and/or branch
A nylon rope that can
hold a fruit weighing approximately 15-20 kilograms from the top to the ground
Insect repellent to keep
away black ants, fruit flies and bees
A thank you prayer
Thank God, it took us
25 minutes to harvest 3 pieces of Jackfruits weighing a total of 36
kilograms. Thanks for developing
knowledge, learning skills and tools, my wife and me passed the drill safely.
Galatians
5:22 The fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
